PRESENTATION ABSTRACT In his slideshow and book, A New Leadership Ethos - The Ability to Predict, Marc van der Erve explains that, in order to resolve the current worldwide crisis, the philosophy and responsibility of leaders must change. He does so based on a novel understanding of what society and its evolution are really about, an understanding that allows leaders to achieve unprecedented levels of organizational efficiency and insight. Before taking the audience on an ambitious journey, Marc helps each member of the audience become an anchor of explanation. The journey leads from renowned leadership role models and phenomena of organization - both in the social and natural sciences - to the true nature of organizational emergence and how the latter will affect our perception of the role of leaders. The last leg of his journey includes an overview of how we can improve our ability to predict the course of society and its leadership. The journey ends with a re-assessment of the leadership role as well as the trend-breakthroughs that will help leaders better deal with the inequalities in our world (including market inequalities, such as customer needs). Marc van der Erve's presentation provides the footing for the practical use of his insights by leaders and leadership teams both in the public and private sector.
